Usagi says: "Mamo-chan was the first partner I ever worked with as Sailor Moon - we fought youma together way before any of the other Senshi showed up to help! He's also about the only person that all of the Senshi respect - even the Outers (and if you don't know how a big a deal that is, you've never met them)! He used to go to Moto Azabu High School, a really elite boy's school for geniuses. He was even one of the prefects there - put in charge of looking after the other students. After he graduated, he aced his university exams and was allowed into Keio University, and even went abroad to study at Harvard! What can I say? I guess I like my men smart! He wants to be a doctor when he graduates, at least, until he gets too busy being the King of Crystal Tokyo - and the loving husband of yours truly! He's a bit of a tease, sometimes, and sometimes he likes to make fun of people (which really used to get me mad, until I got to know him better), but he'll still do whatever he can to help people. He's got a real soft spot for little kids and animals, especially... he's so sensitive! And handsome, and romantic, and gentle, and brave, and... uhm... where was I? What were we talking about? Oh, yeah! Mamo-chan! What else is there to say? He's the greatest... and he's mine!"

As Tuxedo Kamen, some of Mamoru's abilities include flight, enhanced speed, and the power to heal wounds. At times, he has also demonstrated the ability to channel spirits, and sense when Sailor Moon is in danger, no matter where she may be. Many, if not all, of these skills may in fact be psychic in nature. His choice of weapons are a fighting cane and a seemingly endless barrage of roses, any of which he can charge with a strange, unknown energy and throw with deadly accuracy. The roses themselves have been known to pierce solid stone, disrupt enemy magicks, and, on occasion, even explode.

Mamoru Chiba is the (unofficial) Sailor Senshi of the planet Earth. Although a lethal warrior in his own right, Tuxedo Kamen rarely engages the enemy in combat himself, preferring instead to direct Sailor Moon's actions and guard her back, offering -often vital- advice and encouragement. In his childhood, Mamoru was in a car accident that left him with amnesia - he cannot even be certain that Mamoru Chiba is, in fact, his true name.
